A survey of mostly business professionals showed 71% had received a promotional product in the last 12 months; of them, 34% had the item on their person at the time!

The same survey showed 76% could recall the name of the company that gave them the promotional product, yet only 53% could recall the name of just one advertiser from a publication they had read as recently as a week ago.

Of those surveyed, 52% reported a more favorable perception of the company after receiving their promotional product.

Direct Mail Outs

Did you know that promotional products can create a four-fold increase to direct mailout response?

A study was conducted using 3 business groups:

Group 1 received a sales letter alone = a 1.8% response rate

Group 2 received a sales letter with a promotional product included = a 2.7% response rate
(a 50% increase)

Group 3 received a sales letter with an incentive for a promotional product = a 7.3% response rate
(a 400% increase!)

Two studies conducted showed a substantial increase in orders when promotional products were used as opposed to coupons.

In a study of a Food Delivery Service:

Customers who received promotional products re-ordered 18% sooner than those who received coupons
Customers who received promotional products also averaged 18% more orders than those who received coupons

In a study of a Dry Cleaning service:

New customers who received a promotional product spent 27% more than those who received coupons
New customers who received promotional products spent 139% more than those that received only a welcome letter

 

Trade Show Traffic

When a 2-piece gift set was offered, of a drink coaster received before the show and an invitation to receive a matching mug at the show, a 61% increase in response rate was seen over those who received an invitation only. A staggering 300% increase in traffic was seen when compared to those who received no gift before the show.

A 37% and 304% increase was seen in those able to recall the name of the company who provided the gift set, when compared to those who received an incentive invitation only or received no gift before the show, respectively.

In a saftey and awareness campaign, conducted by a trucking company, the goal was to lower the number of accidents and traffic violations that were occurring with the drivers. The company decided to introduce an awards program consisting of branded caps and shirts. Consistent improvements would qualify employees for silk jackets and watches. When the series of gifts were offered for improved performance in road safety and completion of log books, there was a quick turn around in driver behaviour. 15% of drivers qualified monthly for awards and as a result of reduced incidents, the companies insurance premiums were reduced by $250,000.
